This Privacy Notice explains how Samrin UX Studio Inc., a corporation based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and trading as "Hey New Mama" ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our website, take the quiz, or purchase the Blueprint.
1. Who is the controller
Samrin UX Studio Inc. (trading as "Hey New Mama") is the data controller for personal information processed through the Hey New Mama service. You can contact us about privacy at hello@heynewmama.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account & contact data — your email address, and the first name you provide during the quiz.
- Quiz responses — the answers you submit so we can generate your personalized Blueprint and improve the product.
- Purchase data — order identifiers, the product purchased, amount, currency, and timestamp. Payment details such as card numbers are collected and processed directly by Paddle as the Merchant of Record; we do not see or store them.
- Authentication data — sign-in tokens and timestamps used to give you access to your Blueprint from any device.
- Usage & device data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, and referring URLs, collected through standard server logs and analytics.
- Communications — emails you send us and our replies, and email-engagement metadata (delivery, opens, unsubscribes).
3. How we use it and our legal basis
- To provide the Service — generate and deliver your Blueprint, manage your account, and send transactional emails such as receipts and access links. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Security and fraud prevention — detect abuse, protect accounts, and keep the Service running. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Product improvement — analyze aggregated quiz responses and usage to make the Blueprint more helpful. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Customer support — respond to questions and resolve issues. Legal basis: performance of a contract / legitimate interests.
- Legal compliance — meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation.
- Marketing emails — send occasional updates about new resources, only where permitted. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by visiting /unsubscribe. Legal basis: consent / legitimate interests depending on your country.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the categories of recipients needed to run the Service:
- Merchant of Record (Paddle) — to process payments, handle subscriptions and refunds, calculate and remit tax, and issue invoices.
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure — for application hosting, database storage, file storage, and content delivery.
- Email delivery — to send transactional and (where applicable) marketing email.
- Analytics — to understand aggregated usage patterns.
- Professional advisers — accountants and legal counsel, under confidentiality.
- Authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
5. International transfers
We are based in Canada and may use service providers located in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions. Where personal information is transferred outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account, quiz, and purchase data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to support customer service, tax, accounting, and legal requirements (typically up to 7 years for financial records). Server logs are kept for a shorter period. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Under Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA and Alberta's PIPA), you may request access to and correction of your personal information. 8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies (and equivalent storage) for sign-in, session management, and security. We may also use limited analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage.
